19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since that period of that year.

Success also indicates he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet defended 4 initial chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
